I trained as an integrative counsellor and bring together a number of streams of theory into a single consistent approach in my work with clients. At its core is Person Centred theory which takes account of the quality of the counselling relationship to bring about change. Part of this approach is striving to be non judgemental and understand things from your view of the world. I combine this with Transactional Analysis, which looks at how you communicate with others, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which looks at your thoughts and how these might not be serving your best interests and Psychodynamic which looks at the influence of early relationships on your situation. I tailor the therapy to suit your particular needs.
In sessions I may also just ask you to stop and breath to bring you into a calmer space.
Prior to counselling I worked in the corporate world as an IT Business Analyst and can appreciate how stressful work situations can have an impact on your wellbeing and I can support you.
I am also trained in various holistic therapies such as Reiki and Reflexology which enables me to bring a calming healing gentle approach to my counselling work with clients.
I also have a Psychology Degree which I obtained at the Open University
